Our Mission

Creating a connection between a Soldier and/or Veteran who have lost their family, and a Gold Star/22 a Day family who have lost their Soldier and/or Veteran, whether on the battlefield or to suicide (22 a day), regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or identity. To promote the healing process of all involved, through vetting, and pairing of the families and the Soldier or veteran, to develop a continuing lasting bond, for both the family and Soldier and/or Veteran. We will employ Veterans and their family members, Gold Star family members, and family members of Veterans lost to suicide.

Mother, father, brother, sister, Soldier, Veteran, everyone has in some way been wounded by the loss of a loved one.

“As long as the ties that bind them are stronger than those that would tear them apart, all will be well.”

My Story

I wanted to give everyone a little back-story on why I am so passionate about this non-profit. My oldest son Michael McDonald served his country from 2007-2015, deploying to Afghanistan for 10 months from May 2009 until March 2010. Like most veterans Michael suffered from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder); he finally lost the battle with his demons, and took his life 31 January 2021. His baby brother, Steven, unable to deal with the stress of grief, followed him and took his life on 17 May 2021. In forming this non-profit, we hope to help veterans and families who have lost a loved one. If we can help even one veteran or family member that has lost a loved one, it will mean a lot to me.
